Schramm Powered by Epiroc is pleased to announce it has made its first RC (reverse circulation Rig Sales in Africa since the company’s rebranding. The sales highlight the progress of the ongoing Schramm integration and demonstrate successful collaboration between Epiroc West Africa and Schramm.
Four (4) rigs were purchased; two (2) T455 rigs for a state-owned company based in Burkina Faso and two (2) T685 crawler rigs for an exploration company based in Cote d’Ivoire. The sales were spearheaded by Serge William Sanou, Sales Technician, Epiroc Burkina Faso, with the support of William Maloba, Regional Business Line Manager SRD, Fernando Martins, Regional Business Manager – EMEA, and Alan Watson.
This sale is a sign of great things to come. It is the result of the two biggest names in the exploration industry coming together to sell state-of-the-art RC rigs.
Alan Watson, International Sales Manager, Schramm Powered by Epiroc.
Serge’s team worked diligently to convince the customers to select Schramm over the competition—one customer had eleven bidders, and the other was about to proceed with a competing quotation. Serge says two important factors ultimately won over the clients: Schramm’s reputation for building high-quality drill rigs and the presence of Epiroc support and distribution in the region.
That support stems from Epiroc West Africa, a group of Customer Centers and distributors located in Ghana, Mali, Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso, that offers an extended presence throughout the area, and from Schramm Aftermarket support, based in the US.
Yara Hussein, Schramm Aftermarket Portfolio Manager, says, “The Epiroc Customer Centers are our channels to seed the market for future capital and aftermarket sales. Together with the Global Product Team, we are building the aftermarket support for both legacy and new Schramm customers, serving their current targets and collaborating towards future goals.”
William Maloba, Regional Business Line Manager, Epiroc Ivory Coast, is thrilled to incorporate Schramm into the product portfolio, and believes that the acquisition will increase Epiroc market share in the exploration segment.
“There is enormous potential for Schramm Powered by Epiroc in West Africa,” says William. “When it comes to exploration, these rigs almost sell themselves.”
