Epiroc Acquires Schramm Assets

July 2023

In an exciting move for the surface mining industry, Epiroc has finalized the acquisition of key assets belonging to Schramm, Inc. The global assets include inventory, intellectual property, two production facilities in Western Australia, and two service centers located in Queensland and South Australia. Epiroc will incorporate more than 80 Schramm personnel, including an aftermarket team in the US.

Craig Mayman, Global Business Development and Acting General Manager, Schramm, says the deal represents a new era for the company. “This is a very exciting opportunity for Schramm to expand and strengthen our global infrastructure. Utilizing the Epiroc distribution and support network will enable us to offer the best possible support for our customers around the world.”

Our goal is to emerge from the deal stronger than ever.

“The Schramm products and brand are well known as a global leader in reverse circulation technology,” says Helena Hedblom, Epiroc’s President and CEO. “We look forward to welcoming the strong team at Schramm to the Epiroc Group.”

As part of the consolidation plan, the West Chester facility has closed, and the US Aftermarket Team has joined forces with Epiroc in Garland, Texas, in a move that bolsters aftermarket operations for both companies. The Schramm and Epiroc teams have begun collaborating and the integration process is now underway.

Long-time Epiroc manager, Adrian Speer, coming with an extensive background in surface drilling, has accepted the position of Acting Global Aftermarket Director, Schramm. “I am excited to be part of Schramm in joining the Epiroc family,” says Adrian. “The combination of the Schramm team’s expertise and customers’ insights will allow us to extend value in support of customer operations, which is the focus of the Aftermarket Team.”

During the integration, Schramm continues operating as usual, and the company’s focus remains on providing the best RC exploration product and service for its customers around the world. More exciting information will be provided soon.
