Building on its success in the service sector, Schramm, Inc. has expanded into Adelaide [SA], opening an additional manufacturing and service facility in the region. At the same time, Schramm has hired Matthew Liveris to fill the new role of Service Manager in Western Australia. The latest moves underscore the company’s commitment to expanding its global service operations.
“We sell new drill rigs, but we don’t stop there,” says Otis Spencer [President & CEO]. “We help keep those rigs running.”
Service is important to our customers, and it’s important to us.

New Service Facility in Adelaide
The Adelaide facility will handle demand overflow from the Perth location and drive aftermarket growth as a regional service center. It offers full spectrum service, including preventive maintenance, engineered upgrades, and complete refurbishments for drilling rigs of any manufacture. Like all Schramm facilities, the Adelaide location is committed to world class customer service, offering the highest quality components and workmanship.
“This is an investment in our continuing expansion,” says Craig Mayman [EVP Sales, Marketing & GM Australia]. “The location is large enough to alleviate concerns about space constraints in the Perth facility and to accommodate future manufacturing and service growth.”
Leading the team in Adelaide is Shane Kemp [Production Leader].
“Shane has a wealth of experience and a passion for working on rigs,” says Craig. “Our confidence in his abilities was an important factor in opening the new facility.”
Adelaide bridges the Schramm facilities on the east and west coasts of the country, opening the door to more service opportunities and a new labor pool in South Australia. Drilling contractors in the region need service to keep their rigs in good repair and minimize downtime.
“The closer we are to our customers the more opportunities we have for service work,” Craig says. “This location enables us to service rigs on either side of the country, greatly expanding our capacity.”
New Service Leadership in Perth
In another important development, Schramm has hired Matthew Liveris to fill the new position of Service Manager, Western Australia.
“A great service business needs someone that wakes up every morning thinking about growing that business,” Craig says. “We had worked with Matthew in the past, and we knew his skillset and industry connections were the right fit for the new position.”
My goal is to significantly build our service offerings both in the field and in the shop.
-Matthew Liveris, Service Manager WA
Matthew spent his first five years in the industry as a service technician with AirDrill, before pivoting to rig fitting and maintenance. Most recently, he served as maintenance manager at Topdrill [AUS], where he helped expand their fleet from four rigs to twenty-six.
“I’m looking forward to having a diverse range of clients and getting us involved with new businesses, while continuing to offer competitive pricing, timely deliveries, and transparent communication with our customers,” says Matthew.
The new team members and new facility promise to keep momentum building in Australia as Schramm continues to expand its aftermarket operations worldwide.
“We’re very well positioned currently,” says Craig. “We have the ability to grow as much as the market demands.”
